Kimya joined Fidelity in 2018 interning as a law clerk in our claims department then returning in 2019 as a full-time claims attorney after her final year in law school. She was soon promoted to senior claims counsel, where her responsibilities included handling more complex claims with higher exposure as well as lawsuits against the company. In this role, Kimya interpreted title insurance contracts, handled title insurance claims, managed active litigation to resolve title related issues, researched state specific real estate law, drafted formal legal correspondence on behalf of the Company, and worked closely with outside law firms retained by the Company. She also mentored and trained new attorneys, was lead coordinator for the law clerk internship program, and was heavily involved in the hiring and recruiting from top law schools across the country. Now, as a member of the National Commercial Services team, Kimya has transitioned to a more client-facing role using her expertise to drive business for the Company while continuing to partner with law firms and other contacts involved in commercial real estate.

I want my knowledge to be a resource for my clients by using my experience working for the largest title insurer in the country, specifically in the claims department. This offers a unique and valuable perspective for my customers both by understanding title and the real estate business.

Kimya graduated with academic honors from the George Washington University Law School.  During law school, Kimya was a member of the International Law in Domestic Courts Journal and had several case reports published in the Oxford Reports on International Law.  Kimya is a licensed attorney in Washington, D.C. and an active member of the Washington, D.C.
